Masahiko will present two events taking place in Japan in 2025: Bitsummit 2025 and Expo Osaka World Game Week
He will also present opportunities for foreign studios to have a first step in Japan
BitSummit
Established in late-2012, BitSummit was founded with the goal of giving Japanese independent game makers a chance to show their games to the world, and we succeeded, growing from a small, industry-only event for around 200 people in 2013, to a groundbreaking festival that held court to over 11,000 people in 2018.
Osaka World Expo 2025
With the next World Expo taking place in Osaka, Japan, from April to October 2025, we want to take advantage of this event to put the video games industry, and in particular independent creators, in the spotlight.
The official Osaka Expo program includes a themed week ‘Learning & Playing’ from 17th to 28th July with one of the keywords ‘Games Around The World’. Following BelExpo’s validation of the video game showcase in the Belgian pavilion, we want to invite as many as possible countries and their industry associations to join us in creating the first world exhibition dedicated to video games.
By chance, the two events will take place one after the other and the two cities, Osaka and Kyoto, can easily be reached by train in half an hour.
We want to offer international delegations with their studios the chance to take part in both events.
